Dash vs. City of Toronto

Dash vs. City of Toronto, related to the second flood at our house a year ago, has been settled out of court. A check for our insurance deductible is in the mail. It's amazing how little I've had to do with a court case that has my name on it. It's been the insurance company's case. All I know is that this is the last of the flood business to be resolved. Take my advice: don't have a flood in your basement. It's not much fun.

On a related note, try not to flood your marriage, either. It can also be taken care of in the courts with surprisingly little effort. But I recommend building a good foundation on high ground, instead.
