Lessons learned

Got an expensive piece of paper from the University of Waterloo today. Lessons learned: I had no idea Ph.D. graduates got such funky hats. Way cool. I'll probably get better degrees than the one I got today, but I don't know if I'll have to work as hard and as long as I did for this one. A lot of life happened around this degree. Despite protestations to the contrary, pomp and circumstance is moderately enjoyable. My wife rocks. I was really disappointed that nobody gave the sunscreen speech today. Peanut Buster Parfaits are one of the best graduation treats out there.
